Roane Choral Society Presents: Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa
11/08/2023 Oak Ridge, TN: Sunday, December 3 at 3:00 p.m. Roane Choral Society will open their season of The Rule of Three with Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa, a holiday concert celebrating three unique yet similar traditions at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Oak Ridge, TN.
This concert features the combined voices of Roane Choral Society from Anderson, Loudon, and Roane counties accompanied by pianist Slade Trammell, as well as other instrumentalists, and is conducted by Brenda Luggie.
The program includes favorites from Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa, with instrumental, small ensemble, and solo features as well as piano accompaniment, celebrating the joy of the holidays for all. Mark your calendar to join us in this musical celebration. Admission is by donation at the door.
Ms. Luggie takes the podium for the seventh year as director of Roane Choral Society and is an award-winning Professor of Music at Roane State Community College. An accomplished singer and experienced performer, Ms. Luggie earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Ohio University.
Slade Trammell begins his twelfth year with RCS as an accomplished and talented pianist with a love for accompanying singers. He holds a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and has been heard in concerts across the U.S., in Europe, and Canada.
Roane Choral Society remains dedicated to supporting music education in our public schools. We award a total of at least $1,000 annually in grants to deserving music programs chosen from applications reviewed by a committee of RCS members. Winners are recognized for the scope and ambition of their choral program as well as the impact on the children involved.
