Roane County, TN – The Roane Alliance is pleased to announce the promotion of Dawn Carlock to the position of Director of Economic and Community Development, effective July 10, 2024. Dawn steps into this role after a successful tenure as the Chamber Coordinator for the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, starting her journey with the organization on June 12, 2023.

In her previous position, Dawn excelled in managing the administrative aspects of the Chamber and played a pivotal role in enhancing community engagement through new, transformational events. She spearheaded several new community events including the Roam’r Jeep Festival, Taste of the Holidays, and National Night Out, which have significantly contributed to the excitement and togetherness of the Roane County community.

As the Director of Economic and Community Development, Dawn will focus on attracting new businesses and investments in the industrial, retail, and service sectors. Her “boots on the ground” approach will involve substantial collaboration with industrial partners and local companies to support business retention and expansion efforts. Furthermore, Dawn will strive to develop relationships with regional economic developers to encourage a spirit of regionalism and shared success.

In addition to her new responsibilities, Dawn will continue to lead the Roane Alliance in community events that have become yearly staples under her direction. This includes the well-attended Roam’r Jeep Festival, among others, ensuring these events continue to thrive and bring together the residents and businesses of Roane County.

This promotion fills the vacancy left by Justin Snow, who was appointed President of the Roane Alliance in May 2023. Dawn will work alongside Justin to continue learning the nuts and bolts of economic development and to further develop sites to enhance their marketability for future, potential prospects. Her proactive commitment to learning the many facets of economic development was displayed by her participation in the University of Tennessee CIS (Center for Industrial Services) Basic Economic Development Course in Nashville from May 6-9.
