The Roane Alliance Adjusts as Staff Changes
The Roane Alliance said goodbye this week to one of their most dedicated and beloved staff members – Lindsey Stevens, Chamber Member Services Coordinator and hello to a new member who fills a long-time vacant position - Justin Snow will be the new Director of Economic Development.
In just three years Stevens accomplished a lot for the Chamber – increased services for members that included a new website providing marketing tools for members; a new benefit structure developed and implemented, providing more member benefits and choices; and a first-ever member retention program.
“The new benefit structure that was accomplished within Lindsey’s first year normally can take up to two years to roll out but I knew she was the person for the job – her persistence and tenacity is what made her such an asset for the Chamber,” said Chamber President Wade Creswell, the Roane Alliance. “And that was just one of her many accomplishments. But it’s her sweet spirit and unwavering loyalty to Chamber members and Alliance staff that we will miss the most.”
With Stevens moving on to focus on her family and her new baby coming soon, the task for replacement was not easy. The month of April saw a transition within the current staff.
Teresa Jackson was named the new Member Services Coordinator because of her knowledge and understanding of the businesses and industry in Roane County. Jackson worked as the Industrial Services Coordinator for the County for the past 17 years – longer than the Alliance has been in existence. While, Courtney Briley, Chamber Programs Coordinator, will oversee the member retention program.
“This was an easy decision to make and it seemed to naturally fit within Teresa’s existing role,” added Creswell. “We just added the retail and small business side with the existing industries she was already familiar with. The shift to utilize the Chamber’s new database system, ChamberMaster, as the Alliance’s main database had already begun and most of the staff were familiar with it so having Teresa become the system’s expert should be an easy transition. In addition, Courtney Briley, who just completed her first year as programs coordinator, was able to step right in to oversee the member retention plan.”
Justin Snow, a Roane County native, began on April 24 as the Director of Economic Development. A graduate of ETSU with a BS in Business Administration, Snow worked for AT&T in sales the past 17 years. Snow fills a position that has been vacant for some time.
“Being available and providing guidance to our industries and other businesses is vital for Roane County’s economy. Someone that can be available to provide boots on the ground for site visits and unexpected issues involving our industrial parks and available properties is also key to bringing in new industry, which is necessary for Roane’s economic success,” said Creswell.
